No exchange, no conversion \u2014 a considerable practical advantage.<\/p>\n Economic<\/strong> : \u20ac30-50\/day\/person. Hostels, chicken buses, street pupuser\u00edas. El Salvador is the cheapest country in the region.<\/p>\n Comfort<\/strong> : \u20ac70-120\/day\/person. Charming hotels, private transfers, guided excursions. The value for money is remarkable.<\/p>\n Premium<\/strong> : \u20ac150-300\/day\/person. Boutique hotels, private guides, tailor-made experiences. The high-end offer is developing fast, especially on the coast and in Suchitoto.<\/p>\n Surprising budget post<\/strong> : the food. You eat for almost nothing in El Salvador. A pupusa costs 0.25-0.50 USD, a full market meal 2-3 USD.<\/p>\n Dry season<\/strong> (November-April): the best period. Blue skies, temperatures 25-32\u00b0C depending on altitude. December-February is the (modest) tourist peak.<\/p>\n Rainy season<\/strong> (May-October): daily tropical showers in the afternoon (1-2 hours). The vegetation is lush. Prices drop 15-25%. Excellent surf year-round.<\/p>\n Micro-season<\/strong> : the waves are best from March to October (southern Pacific swell). Recommended: Hepatitis A\/B, Typhoid.<\/p>\n Security<\/strong> : El Salvador has dramatically improved its security since 2019. The crime rate has plummeted. Tourist areas are safe. In practice, the dollar remains dominant everywhere.
