Day 1
San Jose - First stop in the heart of the Costa Rica
Arrival in the Costa Rican capital, the starting point for this adventure into exceptional nature. Between colonial buildings and modernity, San José reveals a glimpse of local culture. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore the city center, visit the central market, or savor your first Costa Rican coffee in one of the many typical establishments. A night of rest will prepare you for immersion in nature the very next day.
Early departure to reach the Caribbean coast, where a boat will take you to the heart of the Tortuguero canals, a biodiversity sanctuary accessible only by river. The crossing offers views of lush vegetation and the chance to spot the country's first iconic animals: crocodiles, howler monkeys, and herons nesting in the mangrove. Once there, explore the village of Tortuguero and immerse yourself in the tropical atmosphere of the national park. Depending on the season, a night excursion may offer the opportunity to witness sea turtles coming to lay their eggs on the beach, an unforgettable spectacle.
