Costa Rica is a beginning, not an end.

After introducing thousands of travelers to Costa Rica, we've learned one thing: Many want to return. Not to the same place, but further. Further north towards the Mayan civilizations of Guatemala and Belize. Further south towards Panama and its Canal. In the Caribbean islands of the Dominican Republic. In the volcanoes of Nicaragua.

Horizon is the collection that brings together several countries in a single trip. 14 to 21-night itineraries that combine two, three, or sometimes four countries in Central America or the Caribbean. Frequently Asked Questions

Is Horizon suitable for first-time travelers to Central America?

No, not really. If this is your first time discovering the region, we recommend instead Essential Collection (Costa Rica only, milder). Horizon is designed for those who want to see more widely, either because they have already experienced one country or because they have more time (2-3 weeks).

Do the prices include international flights and domestic flights?

International flights no. Domestic flights (Costa Rica → Panama, Guatemala → Belize, etc.): Yes, integrated into Horizon itineraries. Thanks to Toucan Dynamics, you can also add your international flights to your quote:

How does border crossing work?

We organize everything: cross-border road transfers (Costa Rica ↔ Panama, Costa Rica ↔ Nicaragua), regional flights, customs assistance. A European passport allows visa-free entry into most countries for 90 days.

What is the best time for an Horizon trip?

All year round. Each country has its microclimates. The dry season (Dec-Apr) is ideal for Costa Rica and Nicaragua; the green season (May-Nov) is perfect for Tikal and the Mayan sites (fewer tourists, lush nature). Our advisors will optimize your itinerary according to the season.

Are all hotels the same category?

No — Horizon prioritizes experiences rather than a uniform category. You will sometimes have a 4★ boutique hotel in Granada, sometimes an eco-lodge in the middle of the jungle in Tikal, sometimes a beach resort in Samaná. Each stop has its signature accommodation.

Is Horizon compatible with a photo trip?

Yes, especially. The program «Horizon Panoramas 16 Nights» is designed for exactly that: light aircraft flyovers, lodges with unobstructed views, and timing of stages synchronized with the golden hours. Our guides can also adapt activity schedules for the light.
