A 200 km of signature coastline bordered by emblematic beaches (Conchal, Hermosa, Flamingo, Tamarindo, Sámara), coral reefs, mangroves and the the only tropical dry forest Central America. It's also the preferred gateway for North Americans via the airport. Liberia (LIR).

The experience is multi-faceted mornings lounging on warm-water beaches (dry season: 300 days of sunshine a year), afternoons hiking on the Rincón de la Vieja active volcano (therapeutic mud baths), river safaris to Palo Verde (crocodiles, jabirus), an authentic experience of ranch sabanero, and the laying of leatherback turtles at Playa Grande (November-February).

Our field tip (DMC on site since 2018): 4 nights minimum in Guanacaste to enjoy - 2 nights beach side (Conchal, Tamarindo), 1 day Rincón de la Vieja, 1 day Palo Verde or ranch. Ideal for concluding a tour or departure point via direct LIR flight from the US.
