Tulum is the impossible image: a Millennial Mayan city perched on a limestone cliff, a powdery sand beach where the water shifts from jade to turquoise, and behind it, a jungle dotted with sacred cenotes. It is also the epicenter of a movement — sunrise yoga, mindful eating, Wi-Fi-free signature hotels — that has transformed a fishing village into the international capital of slow travel. The opening of Tulum Airport (TQO) at the end of 2023 has definitively established the destination.
Our on-site tip: a minimum of 3 days to soak in the three sides of Tulum (ruins, cenotes, beach). 5 if you really want to disconnect.
